I am back to the ordinary. Big thanks to to have me for the great event Good energy, good people, and beautiful quilting. Fabric talks. It was filled with stories and messages. ☆

When I received the offer, I wasn’t sure if I would be a good fit for MQG. I am neither a quilter nor practicing modern. However, I learn it is okay to share the “tradition” to appreciate “modern”. It is not “OR”, it can be “And”, then my job is to advocate the coexisting of “Tradition” and “Modern” in Sashiko. It was awesome. I hope to see you in another QuiltCon! ☆ – – – ☆

夢のような二日間でした。8時間のワークショップを2日間という、これまでにない究極の疲労を感じた時間でしたが、この3年間の集大成をお見せできたような気がしています。興味→期待→驚き→落胆→失望→「あれっ？」→可能性→期待→リズム→運針→「淳喋りすぎ」というワークショップの流れをゆっくり感じられるのが6~8時間なのだなと。僕も上達しているようで。 ☆

運針に焦点をあてて刺し子をすると、あまり手先に集中が行きません。つまり、「ながら刺し子」ができるようになります。運針ができるようになった人から順にワイワイと話しながら、最後は僕の話を全く聞かなくなる感じのワークショップ。最高でした。それだけ楽しめていて、刺し子もできているわけなので。 ☆ 「刺し子なんぞに人生かけるのは無理」と思っていた二十代。今は刺し子のおかげで沢山の喜びを頂いています。「（俺の実演をみて）できるわけないじゃん！」と少し怒りの表情を見せた後に、「（自分でできるようになって）案外簡単じゃん？」と思ってもらえるのが、僕の運針をお教えするワークショップの何よりもの喜びです。 ☆
