Silly Me! It has been so long since my last flight. I completely forgot about the thread clipper in the carry-in bag. No, we cannot bring grip scissors in the airplane. Be careful. A needle and thread seems to be okay, but I rushed so much that I put “everything” into the check in bag (Thank AA for letting me retrieve the suitcase…) ☆
So, 9 hours of travel including the connection. I usually stitch while waiting. Today, nothing. I didn’t even bring a book since I had a bag of “Mobile Sashiko”. It became a good time to think what my goal is in sharing Sashiko, which you know already, To Pass down the (Japanese) Sashiko. ☆ – – – ☆

A tip I got from a stitching friend: Take along a small container of dental floss to cut your thread on the tiny metal bump-out thingie.
I thought grip scissors is ok to take onboard because I’m the blades are less than three inches from the apex. I travelled through TSA several times with mine, along with a small pocketknife. Thanks for the awareness. I guess it’s different at different airports, but it shouldn’t be.
i forgot my swiss army pocket knife in my backpack, it also had to come out. now i have the tiniest scissors wich i hope won‘t be taken away…
I sent you an email w a link for Small round tip scissors you can buy in pet store that the airlines allows on board airplane
I love your pattern and dedication to embroidery!
I have traveled all over the world with my small stork embroidery scissors and I was in Kazakhstan in September and they would NOT let me go back home with them! I almost cried because I’ve had them for so long! 😢 I’m glad you were able to repack your scissors!!
