Thank you for many comments on the previous post. The fabric is vintage Mosquito Net that Keiko encountered. She loved the color of moss green & texture, and decided to use the vintage flag to stitch under the mosquito net. It is not a traditional way of doing Sashiko, but we follow the same principal of the traditional Sashiko. On the opposite of fast-fashion & mass consumption, we can find fabrics with stories. ☆
The fabric tells stories, and the stories reminds me the heart of Sashiko. I will bring this item to I hope some can touch the unique texture of stories. ☆

Finally, a copy of the PieceWork Summer 2021 issue has arrived. I cannot describe how grateful I feel to the PieceWork team to respect my writing style & nuance in their magazine. It has been very challenging to “write” for publications (I had several very painful experiences). However, as long…

We are starting the “New Normal”. I once became the full time stay-at-home father (again)… well, this time, more like a home-school teacher (until the school starts). ☆ Unlike the many other Japanese business models, we have a policy of “family comes first”. As much as I would like to…

Thanks for explaining about the fabric. I have got some mosquito net fabric bought in one of my many visits there. I also have an old festival flag. I will try to put them together and Sashiko stitch it. Thanks for your inspiration 🙏🏼💙
