My name is Atsushi and I am very excited to visit Austin for my first QuiltCon.

My name is Atsushi and I am very excited to visit Austin for my first QuiltCon. I have almost zero experience in (Modern) Quilting. I just jumped into the quilting journey. Instead in this Quiltcon, I am happy to share my profession, Sashiko. I will be teaching the Sashiko Mastery Class. It is an honor to be part of the QuiltCon and share my life with Sashiko & Boro. (I was born in a Sashiko family in Japan).
☆
Before & after the workshops, I plan to join social events & walk around to enjoy the displayed quilts. I am a complete newbie to Modern Quilt & MQG, so your “hello” would make me feel so welcomed to be in the convention center 🙂
☆
For a quick peek of what I do Sashiko, please check my story-telling account @Sashi.Co. It is so exciting to meet many people. See you soon in Austin.

As a trend goes, the “name” is often used lightly. As Sashiko became the trend, many items now have the title of “Sashiko” in their product name – like Sashiko Thread, Sashiko needle, Sashiko Thimble, and Sashiko Fabric. Since “just adding the name” may increase the sales, it is a…

One of the most important choices to make better stitches is “Thread”. Techniques & Posture (form) is important, but the choice of Sashiko thread make a huge difference. I am counting the days!! Sashiko is such an important piece of the Japanese culture and I am honored to take your class and spread the word about this beautiful art. Is amazing how many people mispronounce and haven’t idea what’s Sashiko is. @cmelancon99 and I will make sure you are welcome amongst our modern guild and well included in the crazy!
