I strongly believe in the importance of “supporting the rising artisans”. In the past, craftsmen were supported by the local community because of its necessity. The artisans became artisans because there were people who appreciated their craftsmanship. Industrial Revolution and following globalization offered a better standard of living, but the artisans had to decide if they wanted to continue their craftsmanship. Now, it is a choice, not a necessity. Therefore, in order to pass down the culture of a craft (especially that hand-crafting), it is critical to choose who to buy from. ☆
Although I am nowhere close to “wealthy artisan”, I would like to spend as much time & money as possible to support the rising artisan. The goal is to pass down the Sashiko culture & its community. I am happy to start introducing a natural dye artisan, debut for the first time in the “selling” market. I carefully tested the samples, and I believe they are good to go. The same Sashiko thread, dyed by a rising dye artisan, Fall-Deer. ☆
When you purchase it, I will order more thread to her. It is the economic cycle I would like to create. Until the day she becomes comfortable calling herself as the dye artisan, I will keep providing her thread as reasonable as possible. For a limited time, please enjoy the 10% OFF from already discounted price – to support the rising artisans. Coupon Code: “SUPPORTRISINGARTISAN” is available on our website for this specific thread.

We can all interpret Sashiko as we want. After all, it is just a form of hand-stitching. However, in order for you to truly experience the Sashiko we practice, I need to keep saying it. “Thread Matters”. There are only 2 kinds of Sashiko thread we have proven as “effective…
