I am teaching at QuiltCon 2020 in Austin.
☆
Preparation for all of the workshop materials from Japan is completed. Now, it is time to “Extra Preparing” for the class contents. No matter how many times I offer the workshop, I get nervous and scary. I am like that, and I believe it is a good thing.
☆
If you are taking the class, I am so happy to meet you there. If you will be in Quiltcon, and find me in the exhibit area, say hello. I believe I am not a difficult person OFF the Internet. I will be joining the special events like Happy Hours as much as I can. It is an honor to be part of this exciting event, and I am willing to do everything I can. (Well, no events I can join for Saturday evening after the workshop – so getting together for dinner or something?) ☆

I would like to spread the beauty & enjoyment & empowerment of Sashiko. Therefore, a trend is very much welcome. The more people talk about Sashiko, the more chance they will get to know Sashiko. At the same time, I realize that Sashiko is my identity, and I cannot just…

Continued a bit of whining (Part.1) ☆ I occasionally get the question like “I cannot stitch like you do. What am I doing wrong?”. Do they expect me to answer that types of questions over email for free? We have more than 30 years of experience, and the person is…

本質 (HonShitsu) is another Japanese word I am trying to convey the message with in English. 本質 can be translated “Essence”, “(True) Nature”, and “Heart of the matter”. In my interpretation in Sashiko, I use the word “HonShitsu” when I describe “What it really is/was”. So, what is Sashiko’s “Honshitsu”?…

❤️ nice experience for you all! so good to listen that you still get nervous, for me as school teacher, everytime I am about to start with a new group, getting nervous means that I care and that I am aware I am about to meet the one that will help me learn so much more about me once again
