A photo from the Sashiko Workshop in Lewisburg a couple of days ago. I really enjoyed them coming back to the workshop. Even without the words, the fact all of them came back tells me they liked the Sashiko workshop. My (Atsushi’s) workshop is a learning opportunity rather than “Let’s enjoy Sashiko together”. However (therefore), their stitching can significantly improve after the workshop. I will be offering the workshop (both in-person & online) in 2020 as well. First, QuiltCon at Austin TX in Feb. Next, sometimes in April in NYC (Pending). As I announced in 2019, I will offer fewer workshops in 2020, to focus on my stitching. I hope to meet (see) you somewhere.

おかげさまで、3年もの間、英語で刺し子ワークショップを続けてこれました。これまで受講頂いた方は、延べ150人以上にもなります。「趣味 / クラフト」の世界なので、全ての方が刺し子を続けられるとは思っていません。勿論、ずーっと続けて欲しいなと思ってはいますが、飽きることももあるし、単純作業だし。では僕ができることが何かといえば、いつでも戻ってこれる場所を作っておくことだと思っています。

数日前、住んでいる町で（セミ）プライベートワークショップを開催しました。全員、二回目の受講。一回目のワークショップで刺し子を一層好きになり、そして二回目を心待ちにしてくださった人々です。お褒めの言葉を頂くことは勿論嬉しいのですが、やっぱり、こうして実際に行動にして頂けると頑張って良かったなぁと思うのです。
