Another wonderful photo sent from our Sashiko friend (@knapparoniandcheese Thank you!). She completed several Sashiko projects using the materials we provided in the Sashiko workshops. It is the best thing happen to me to see them enjoying Sashiko – continuously. The photos made me smile. Such a great way to start the new year. It is a good way to appreciate my origin – the Sashiko – by sharing & by passing it down to as many people as possible. She even left a note saying “Everyone who takes your class is extremely fortunate”. I think I am very lucky to have those who are willing to learn Sashiko from us. I am aware that I set the requirement high in this “free & quick-standard” society. The obstacle is because I want them to learn, instead of “imitate” superficially. In return for their willingness, I believe I am there to share everything I have. I will do the same in 2020. I share the Sashiko we love, and keep stitching the Sashiko we are proud of. ☆

新年の配信、ありがとうございました。本年も無事に配信を続けていけること、とても幸せに思います。初っ端から「友達が欲しい宣言」を繰り返すなど、年初っぽくない配信になりましたが、僕らしい配信とご容赦頂ければ嬉しいです。純粋に、一緒に刺し子を楽しめる人が増えれば良いなぁと。実際それが形になっているから何よりも嬉しいのです。そして僕が言葉にしている想いが次世代に残れば（友達を通して”結果的に”残れば）良いなぁと思うのです。恵子さんと里央菜。なんだかんだで僕の刺し子への原動力は原始的なものです。

そんな友達の作品。国も文化も関係なく、運針会やワークショップをきっかけに運針や刺し子を楽しみ、そして楽しみ続けてくれている友達からの連絡は嬉しいものです。「淳から刺し子を学べて幸せ者です」と、僕の涙腺が崩壊しそうなコメント付きで。やっぱり僕の立ち位置は「伝える」こと。刺し子そのものの実力も勿論大切ですが、同時に伝えることは何よりも大切な立ち位置なんだなぁと思います。新年から幸せになれる写真でした。ありがとう、Kaitlin!
