Wow. Am I that maverick in this society?
☆
For me, money is merely a tool – not a goal. I need money to make my dream come true, but I don’t live for money… Come on.
☆
My priority: (1) Family and friends, (2) Sashiko, then (3) everything else. I don’t eat out much because my family & friends prefer what I cook – and I love cooking for them (occasional celebration would be nice, though). I don’t care brand name – so no need to have a top-brand fashion (In fact, I have not purchased any clothing – besides underwears – for 3 years or so) or no need for a luxury car (a safe car for my girls would be nice – or my dream car of Honda prelude 1992… ).
☆
The only thing I would like to have money for – besides the expense to make my “Sashiko” dream come true – is an education cost for my daughter. It is somewhat the Japanese (&Jewish) culture to pay for a child’s education – I am on it with PA 529 little by little.
☆
I declare this here. One day, if you see me coming off from a private Jet saying “I will tell you a secret of how to make a million $ with Sashiko” with cash on my hands with a scary smile, then literally sue me for scam and money back. You can use this post to valid your lawsuit. I do not care how much money I have in my safe box… so I don’t think I am money grabber…? Yes, I need a quite good amount of money to keeps Sashiko alive to pass down the culture – but if I get a surplus, I just invest in the next Sashiko stitchers. Come on…

Sashiko Live Streaming, August 22nd After learning the word “Cultural Appropriation” in 2019 after sad experience, I have been sharing my understanding of “Cultural Appropriation” in Sashiko – I believe I am very flexible in accepting “What Sashiko is”. One may say, “I am not stitching as good as you…

The more I share my stories, the more I realize that my “ordinary” has now become the “extraordinary”. Sashiko is what I do: and it requires the Japanese mindset to fully understand Sashiko as a practice. Although I haven’t reached a full understanding yet, it is astonishing that my common…
