Sashiko is a form of hand-stitching. Therefore, Sashiko gets its popularity in “Slowness”. I enjoy the slow-fashion and appreciation in the slow-life, but I always want to improve my hand-stitching level. It is what the Japanese look for as well, I believe. なんか、Youtuberっぽい画像ですみません（笑）。配信で何気なく出た、「あれ、運針してると30秒でどれくらいの針目作れるんだろう？」という疑問。あれだけ配信でカメラ越しに運針しているのに、いざ時間を測るとなると、めちゃくちゃ緊張しました。

スロースチッチ（ゆったりとした針仕事）として論じられる事が多い刺し子。確かにゆっくりと確実に針を通して布を育てていく感覚は、現代の使い捨て文化の中では愛おしむべきものだと思います。ただ、同時に、「運針は遅くていい」というのは微妙に違うと思います。今時点の運針は決して早い必要もなく、遅くても良いのですが、「遅いことに満足して歩みを止めること」あるいは、「刺し子以外を理由に遅い運針をごまかすこと」は少し違うと思うんです。誰でもできる運針だからこそ、誰もがしていた運針だからこそ、日常に即した運針だからこそ、やっぱり早く効率よく無駄のない針仕事になればいいなと思うのです。僕自身まだまだだなぁと思っています。日々是精進ですね。
