I got a question: “Why your Boro and Western Boro look differently?”. Great question. I couldn’t come up with an answer right away. It does look different, and I am not that interested in Boro-inspired patchwork with strong expression. I prefer a piece of Boro, which talks quietly.

I talked to patchwork whatever I had. I was cleaning my working area for the coming up workshop in Lewisburg, and found the recent stitching I did for sampling. Umm. What is the difference between the Boro I (may) make and those from non-Japanese regions. I see many similarities, but differences. It probably require a video to explain.

個人的な好みの話ですが、現在非日本語圏で「Boro作ったよー」という作品は、あまり興味が湧きません。例えばですが、 で出てくるような画像を見て、面白いなぁと思うことはありますが、心を揺さぶられる事はないのです。 面白いのは、友人から「違いは何？」と聞かれて、ふむ〜と考え込んでしまうこと。ぶっちゃけ、補修してるし、パッチワークだし、やってることそのものはそれほど違いません。でも見た目としての結果は、全く違ってくる。なんでだろう。
