“Share Sashiko”. “Pass down the Sashiko culture”. It is easy to say, but quite difficult to make it happen. I have a 30 years long strategy (toward 2050) – to pass down the Sashiko, based on my 10 years in Sashiko business. The core of this strategy is to raise another artisan (practitioner) who may be above the bread-line by Sashiko – without other jobs. I am on my way to do so to Keiko and myself. However, without someone who will not only get admiration but the value (compensation), the Sashiko will not be secured. ☆
I expected the first stage would take more than years. Surprisingly, many possible Sashiko artisans are emerging (regardless if they want to be the artisan or not). My teaching skills improved, and they are getting very good. Some of us still don’t feel comfortable being called “Artist” yet. I feel I don’t deserve the title. I have a favor to ask. Please make us “The artist” – by supporting, purchasing, talking about us, learning from us. Your careful attention (mindfulness to us) would open up a path to be the artists, and then Sashiko will preserve its form in 2050.

昨日の配信で「刺し子でお金儲けは不可能」と断定してしまいました。お金儲けの定義にもよりますが、やっぱり外車を乗り回すようなレベルにはなかなか到達できないと思います。でもね、「刺し子で生活を成り立たせる」ようになることに理想を描いています。2014年に恵子さんとSashiCoを始めた際、（勝手に一人で）30ヶ年計画を立てました。30年後にも、今の僕達がしている刺し子が残っている為の超長期戦略です。刺し子業の経営側だった10年程の経験を凝縮して、無理だという頭と戦いながら、なんとか組み上げたもので、今でも常にアップデート中です。僕がブレないのは、それがあるから……です。その戦略の第一項が、「刺し子で生活する人」を応援すること。刺し子の自立……とでも言うか。平均年収（中央値）が最終目標ですが、まずは最低賃金。趣味の刺し子からの一歩目。僕も恵子さんも刺し子だけの収入は最低賃金にも届いていないので偉そうな事は言えないのですが、それでも、可能性への期待値は上がってきていて、希望があるというのは嬉しい限り。

ちなみに大事なことなので何度も言うのですが、収入を得ることで他を犠牲にしていいというわけでは有りません。何よりも「刺し子を楽しみながら」がキーワードです。だから難しい。だからやり甲斐がある。そして、だから、「残る（残せる）」んだと思っています。
