My friend lends me his place to photo shooting our collection. So excited to share better photos for what we carefully make. Pretty much everything we share is available for sale (or Sold). It is our privilege to make our Sashiko items with thinking of someone who would purchase and appreciate what we care. Sashiko was originally done for the family member – mending a blanket for the child and strengthening the fabric of a working jacket for the husband. Thanks to our customers, we can extend our range of care to someone we have not even met yet. However, (well, actually, THEREFORE), we feel the customers like our families and dear friends. We are very fortunate for the opportunities. We put our sincere caring energy into what we make.

I feel what Keiko makes has some special power (I am aware it sounds a bit eccentric). I thought it was too much of an exaggeration to verbalize, but recently, we receive the similar comments to my eccentric feeling. When they try them on, some cries, some jumps (with joy), some just start meditating (I thought she fainted). Her Sashiko pieces are beautiful. And it has something more than beautiflu – a lot different from the mass-produced clothing. I assume you know what I am talking about. The memories. Energy. The textile (clothing) carry “care and appreciation”, especially if it is done for (from) someone you (are) cared. ☆

In his interview with @mamasteddybear, Atsushi discusses how cultural appropriation shows up in the practice of Sashiko and how crafters and teachers can approach the practice in a more informed and respectful way. Issue…

This is one of the popular Japanese geometric pattern, Seigaiha (Seikaiha). One of my projects in 2018 is to introduce some of these Japanese geometric patterns. 3 ready so I will start introducing them on my web & Youtube accordingly. ★ 2018-07-30 16:35:19 Source

This is my favorite Boro Jacket from Keiko. She made it for me when I decided to continue offering the Sashiko Workshop in NYC. ★ I plan to talk about what is “Boro” and its definition on Youtube. Boro is a result of continous stitching (so-called Sashiko), in which the…
