Good news for the Cultural Appropriation with @Kimono and Kim Kardashian. The mayor of Kyoto City sends a letter of the petition to reconsider the name of her brand. Minister of Economy & Trade – Mr.Seko acknowledge the concern. Politicians got involved so we will support them by numbers of “Kim.Oh No”. One may be a small voice, but never powerless. ☆
On top of that, I would like to support the petition from “maker’s perspective”. Culture often preserve its form with 2 category of people – makers and users. I am proud to be the one who actually make Sashiko (and sincerely respect those who make Kimono.) If you have any good photos of Kimono (and Sashiko), please share with us. I explained briefly why it is not okay to use the name Kimono for the underwear (the video is on Youtube @ Sashi.Co), and I will summarize them again. It is not only about tradition, but also our Japanese spirit. Therefore we are upset. In addition to expressing our emotions, my approach for this issue is more positive with “Let’s wow the world with Japanese culture”. Please join as a crafter and user of Japanese beautiful culture. ☆

京都市が正式に文面を送るとのこと。経済産業大臣も呟いてたし、政治が入ってくれるのは少し安心です。「別に言葉だけだし良いんじゃない？」とか「私は中立な立場で発言します」とか、様々な意見が出てきているとは思いますが、個人的にはマジで大変なことになってしまっていると危機感ヒシヒシです。米国でのブランドだからといって、対岸の火事だとは思ってほしくない。

危機感と嫌悪感を感じている理由は、先日の配信で少し触れました。また纏めて動画にするつもりですが簡単に纏めると（１）着物は晴れ着でもあること。（２）着物はまだ生きた文化（和裁士さんとかそれで生活がある）であること。（３）日本人がなぜ衣食住と、衣を最初に捉えるかという精神。（４）着物は使いすてではなく、世代を超えるものであること。（５）諸々個人的にいけ好かない。日本人としての精神論を馬鹿にされていると思っています。知らないのは仕方ない。知った後に無視するのは良くない。

政治が入ってきたので、声を上げるのに加えて、「作り手」として情報発信をしていけたらと思っています。実際の着物（刺し子）文化を伝え手、「キム、それダサくねーか？」という声が出たら成功。Kimonoをブランディングに使うことで、ブランドそのものが「無知の象徴＝ダサい」となればと。僕は刺し子の作家で、着物の写真はあまりないので、華やかな着物の写真をお持ちの方が居たら、是非共有頂けると幸いです。上記（１）〜（４）の項目について、僕が使っていい写真があれば、それも共有頂けると幸いです。日本語で物語があれば、尚更。喜んで英語に翻訳して紹介するので。
