I had the 10th Sashiko Online Class in Japanese today. Once we focus on the process of Sashiko instead of the results, the stitches start reflecting who you are (or what you have in mind at the time of stitching). When I talk in Japanese, it is much easier to share the concept of this mindfulness and beauty in focusing the individual character – “No snowflakes fall in the same spot.” | Once you care and appreciate the fabric in stitching, the results will be so attractive to many people even if the stitches are not so even. At least, I prefer the Sashiko with caring rather than focusing on being “perfect” in the result. (Well… for me – Atsushi – I could use more planning and preparation before actual stitching… lol)

Language of Japanese and English are very different because it also reflects the culture. It was a valuable lesson a week ago. I will keep studying the languages and try to be a storyteller of Sashiko and Japanese culture within. ☆

Follow-up Post about “Hand-Made” on 3/30. ☆ I didn’t mean to say that all of the housemaker (mostly parents, I guess) should prepare the handmade meal, otherwise love doesn’t exist there. I didn’t say that. As I received in the comment from @tuism (thank you), in this busy life to…

Asanoha (麻の葉) pattern is my favorite. You may realize how much I stitch Sashiko with Asanoha patterns, and you may even wonder why I stitch so much Asanoha – not other patterns. There is a reason behind it as well.  ☆ Enjoying a variety of patterns is a great way…

I fully agree with you and I thank you for retelling how the process itself is important. I am living in Tokyo and would be interested in the classes…
