Our Sashiko Story to Your Sashiko Journey

I really appreciate all of the insights you have shared. I am learning from you as well.
☆
After all, with the Internet, the information (& wisdom) became something we need to “choose (prefer)” instead of “research”. It is natural to understand the information we only want to understand. Therefore, I will keep sharing the “Japanese mindset” of Sashiko stitching. There are many Japanese people who devoted their time to pass down Sashiko, so are many non-Japanese people who accomplished great translation & introduction in other languages. I respect those who is ahead of us. ☆
I can simply share the Sashiko we practice. Please understand that I am not here to judge anyone’s Sashiko (or any hand-stitching for that matter). Above said, I believe there gotta be similar culture in your own heritage. Instead of calling just “running stitch” Sashiko with whatever you prefer, it may be a good idea to “learn” what & why you are doing. It is probably the best way to respect the others who spent so much time and energy in one culture (here Sashiko), and more importantly, respect who you are.
☆

I often write: Sashiko/Boro is NOT ◯◯. I understand your wonder (or frustration) why I do not offer the correct definition instead of saying “NOT”. Well, as you may guess by now, since Sashiko/Boro existed in the ordinary, there is no “one correct definition”. It differs based on many elements….

I receive feedback saying “He is overreacting”, “I don’t understand why he is so angry” and so on. I assume it happens because it is almost “impossible” to explain what I am trying to share in English. The differences over culture & language are huge. ☆ It is true that…
