Forever in-progress Sashiko Denim. Interestingly, both Keiko and me, cannot focus on only one Sashiko projects. We would need several, sometimes more than 5 or so, projects to keep our brains fresh. This denim still have uncompleted part to be Asanoha pattern, yet I believe it is okay to not to complete it. It is for me and I just keep using it regardless of condition.
☆
What I would like to share throughout SNS is that Sashiko is not always about the results. I pay more respects to the process itself. Well-known Boro, as the beautiful art masterpiece, is the result of these continuous Sashiko stitching. It is merely fabric and thread after all. Sashiko sometimes connect to the human consciousness and represent who she/he is. If you have been following us for the SNS posts, you may be able to distinguish which is Keiko’s Sashiko and Atsushi’s Sashiko.
☆

“What do you like about Sashiko?”. I convinced myself to ask this question to the public in 2022. I was scared of facing reality. I am still in fear of unknown changes within Sashiko. However, it is my time to speak up – if it isn’t too late. ☆ What…

In the post where I shared how badly I was (emotionally) bleeding, one said to me “All You Do is Complaining”. It is an example of stabbing with their good intention. It happens a lot. I just didn’t expect to be stabbed when I just got up from the pain…

This is our “first” time to make Boro together in the same space (room). When we were working for the Sashiko business, our main task was to “run” the company. After we end up living over the national boarders, even when we see every 2 years or so, I had…

I can never keep myself to just one project. I like that you presented it as “keeping your brain fresh” because now I won’t feel as guilty when I “cheat on” projects.

Beautiful work. I too need more than one project to work on (and more than one book to read!).

The bit about the process and not just the result resonates with me.
