Ever since I decided not to fear how the others will judge me, expressing (sharing) what I know & believe have became so much easier. So, the Instagram became like a blog platform.

I have a pile of things to do as well… yet I choose sharing the stories. Your comments make me feel so credited. Anyway, I gotta work too. I will re-start sharing more stories after the Sashiko Stitching Workshop in NYC. We have a few seats left on 4/14, and possibly one seat on 4/13.

We have some items to be listed on website for sales. It is another important activity to support the artisans (& myself) for our days. This kinchaku drawstring bag should be available sometimes in this week @upcyclestitches .

I imagine, more than hundreds of years ago, in a small village in Japan, Japanese women got together and stitch. Were they so particular about their stitches? I don’t think so. They stitched for the purpose of “surviving”. They stitched alone sometimes and waited for the day got together. They…

In order to understand how Japanese practice develop over time, it is important to be familiar with the concept of [Shu-Ha-Ri (守破離)]. This philosophy exists as the foundation of unique and creative development. “Creativity” for Japanese is NOT doing “Whatever”. “Doing something Traditional” isn’t just focusing on old things. It…
