Tomorrow in 8 years ago. 3.11. The Tsunami I saw over the TV changed my life. I wasn’t living in the area where Tsunami hit, but throughout the supports, I learn the most important core of Sashiko that I am sharing now.
☆
8 years. It can be “still 8 years” or “already 8 years”. I try to be the one who support them “continuously” rather than just the day of memory. It is Otsuchi Sashiko I would like to keep supporting. Our support may be very small, but not powerless completely.
☆
One of the support we can do is to help in establishment of “continuity.” With their skill in 8 years, they can now make a “one-of-a-kind” Jacket based on the client’s requests. It takes a long time & costs a lot since all of them are hand-stitched, but if you are interested, I am happy to be an agent to make it happen (including translation). We continue supporting, Otsuchi Sashiko Project (https://sashiko.jp/)
☆

(This time, it is Oshima Mud Dye Silk, Vintage Swatch). I uploaded the Katazome and Sashiko swatch yesterday with describing it was Oshima Silk. Sorry! ☆ I sincerely respect those artisans in the Japanese history (of course existing artisans as well). Their work textile obtain its original colors by “aging”…

We do everything we can to prioritize the health and safety of our customers & people we see. Then, we try to keep our days as ordinary as possible. It is scary to see the spreading, but panicking will not resolve the situation either. ☆ I have Sashiko workshops planned…

Is it wrong to say “Instant Boro”? I have re-watched Friday Night Sashiko Live Streaming in English. The live was so eventful – I kept talking about something very interesting from one topic to another. Well, after 2 days of thinking, I still haven’t come up with how I can…
