Just a swatch with Sashiko stitching. No cleaning and no finishing yet, but I feel pretty calm when I see Sashiko in ordinary days. I don’t drink alcohol, but I have a bottle of good Sake for other cooking. Sushi, Sake, Japanese culture and its product are well adapted to the western culture. I hope, one day, Sashiko will be one of the Japanese culture many people would understand without specific explanation. ☆
糸切りも水通しも、なんにも手をつけていない刺し子をしただけの布ですが、それでもやっぱり日常の中に刺し子があると、なんか落ち着きます。お酒は飲まないのですが、お野菜も酒蒸しするととても美味しくなるので、アメリカで醸造されたお酒は常にストックしています。上手にアメリカの日常に溶け込んだ日本酒のように、刺し子も溶け込めば嬉しいなと願いながら。
