I repeatedly mention that it is very important to learn “how to transfer & draw the pattern on the fabric for Sashiko”. However, it is also true that a fabric with pattern pre-printed is useful and easy to enjoy Sashiko. So, here it is. @UpcycleStitches and we start carrying the first batch of pattern printed fabric with “erasable ink” so you can just jump into Sashiko stitching. It took about a year to come up with this & require some investment, so we won’t be able to make other patterns that easily, but we will try our best to come up with more of those. The first pattern is, of course, Asanoha pattern. Asanoha is pretty easy to transfer & draw, but the small Asanoha pattern can be a bit troublesome, especially with chalk pencil which can be erased by hand sweat… so I hope we are also answering the requests. The actual stitching video is available on Youtube. I just did it this morning.

I share many stories. I want you to read every post before “Reacting”:, but here is a roughly condensed message: Sashiko introduced in English is NOT wrong but insufficient. I feel fear of someone non-Japanese making the “insufficient description of Sashiko” as a whole culture by ignoring/filtering voices from Japan(ese).  …

Please imagine a dish you often enjoy. It can be Pizza, Salad, wings, Soup… anything you often enjoy, or even feel tired of having as you have so often. Let’s say you eat “Salad” everyday. (I used mac & cheese in a BBC video, but here I use Salad). Your…

Be a smart follower/customer/practitioner/student/and the next master. Don’t be fooled by the terms. ☆ Many call me “master” in Sashiko. I hesitantly accept the admiration, yet I wouldn’t call myself “master”. I have many respectful artisans in my memory, and I cannot call myself a master until the day I…
