A Sashiko-patchworked swatch from the live streaming last night. All of the process is shared online unedited. “Patching 2 pieces of fabric with Sashiko stitching.” It took about 70 minutes for me to complete. On top of the argument of either 70 minutes is not much or a lot, I feel the 70 minutes of talking to the fabric is somewhat laxury. ☆
Mindfulness. Meditation. It is quite challenging to “empty your mind”. However, it is relatively enjoyable to let myself dive into the fabric and only focus on stitching. It is Sashiko we adore. And, it makes me thing how difficult it is to price this process and result. (Sashiko was ordinary for the ordinary Japanese, so it is very difficult to price it, yet we have to do so to sustain the activity. If you were me, what is the pricing for the “society”?) ☆

The more I learn, the more I feel the difference between JPN & ENG. Another word I struggle in translation is “想像力”. The direct translation is “Imagination”. However, what I would like to convey is more like “an ability to imagine to the point of ‘what if I were’”. Some…
