Instagram, Facebook, other SNS. We all try to “shine” on the web and share the “good side” of our lives. “He looks happy” on the post, but we actually don’t know “if he is really happy” in real. I am one of them to show a “good side” of Sashiko. At the same time, I would like to introduce the Sashiko as unedited & raw as possible. The Sashiko live streaming is one of those. I cannot edit anything and hide (or fake) anything I do. It is an actual person enjoying Sashiko stitching. ☆
In order to tell what I believe in, writing in the sentence is necessary. At the same time, I hope I can share the “message” by showing the unedited version of Sashiko, like “No right or wrong” and “Sashiko isn’t about making the perfect one stitch”. I do not answer the technical question because it is my time to “enjoy” Sashiko, not the time to teach. However, any comments asking me questions regarding Sashiko (or anything else for that matter) that I can answer without stopping my stitching are always welcome. Most of the videos are archived on Youtube. I hope you can find me stitching calming or somewhat enjoyable (although I mostly speak in Japanese). 😀 | (For those would like to learn Sashiko from me, I have a few workshops coming up in NYC. Check upcyclestitches.com) ☆

@ilaatalay Thank you! It is merely our understanding of the culture behind of Sashiko, but we wanted to share that Sashiko is more than just making a beautiful one stitch.
