One of the biggest difference between Kogin and Running Stitch Sashiko is the type of needle. Kogin is good with a dull head needle, and Running Stitch Sashiko requires very sharp needle head. (The actual needle is available @upcyclestitches)

今年は「こぎん刺し」に手を出せる時間があるのでしょうか……（笑）1月の感じだと、ワークショップが無ければ無いで、いろいろ楽しでしまうので、諸々後回しになってしまいそうです。動物（っぽい何かの）ポンポンとか、話してたの去年の今頃かな。

こぎん刺しと僕がメインとする刺し子。共通点も沢山ありますが、違いもあります。その違いの内、針の違いって結構大きいのでは……と思うのです。こぎん刺しは針の頭が尖っておらず、ぐし縫いの刺し子は針は尖りまくっております。知っている人には当たり前のそういう知識も、しっかりと言葉にして伝えていきたいと思っています。頑張るぞー。
