I introduced the special combination of valuable vintage fabric and Hitomezashi with the natural dye Sashiko thread. I found a photo of the bag we made in the past. Because of its value, the bag shocked me how Keiko could stitch on the vintage Oshima silk, but it is all about repurposing the fabric to bring “someone” joy. Add another joy instead of throwing it away. Sashiko is caring in many meaningful ways. ☆
先日ご紹介した古布と一目刺しの相性の良さ。以前作ったバッグの写真を見つけたのでご紹介です。大島紬と草木染めの刺し子糸。派手な布ではない大島の優しさと、一目刺しの力強さ。初めて見た時は、その価値から、「マジで!?」と思った作品ですが、ときめきを感じる布をそのままバッグにして大事に使うという刺し子らしさを思いっきり感じられる作品だと思います。
