Another happy news. [Repost from @non.mie.acha]. Look at her beautiful Sashiko stitching. She took my brief Sashiko workshop in 2018. 6 months later, she is enjoying the rhythm of “Unshin (Needle Movement)” and creating many beautiful Sashiko pieces. ☆
Sashiko is not only about the result but also enjoying the process of stitching (can be meditative, addictive, and mindful process). Our passion is to teach the technique, posture, as well as the rhythm of Sashiko stitching (on top of Sashiko culture). I am building the online Sashiko workshop (self-teaching) as well as planning the workshop in NYC in Spring. I hope to meet you one day (and see you again) to share the fun of Sashiko stitching. ☆

“Sashiko is a good meditation. It calms me down and helps me to get out of the panic.” I often see this type of description about Sashiko online. For me, as one Sashiko practitioner who once considered Sashiko as “Curse” and cause of all my suffering, this on-going image of…

Stitches carry a lot of memories. We sometimes call it “spirit”, “feelings”, or even “identity”. I believe it is the same for many people, including you. You may have something associated with your memory & identity made by hands. Interestingly, what I had received had a name “Sashiko”, and it…

While re-watching Sashiko Live Streaming on 3/7, I found a great analogy spoken by mouth. It is about “Simplification of Sashiko”, and I believe it is happening to many other Cultural Practices. ☆ Imagine that a Whole Story of Sashiko is like a big circle. When it was introduced to…
