Arranging my pile of Vintage Fabric, Kofu, for the coming up workshop for 12/8 & 12/9. ☆
I thought this Kasuri, Ikat fabric was in one piece, the Japanese kimono fabric width and one long length. However, I found someone (probably my mother), patched for the future usage.

People say, the fabric tells stories. The fabric once used to be a part of regular Kasuri fabric, then became a piece of vintage fabric. We look forward one day, this vintage fabric become part of someone’s art or craft to be under the spotlight again. The beauty of time & fabric. Stories and culture. ☆
古布の整理をしていて、嬉しいサプライズを見つけました。一枚ではなかった同じ絣の古布を、もう一度一枚にするかのような、少しの針仕事。繋げるだけの、でも未来に使う人のことを考えた針仕事。やっぱり嬉しくなりました。絣の反物だった時代、古布になり小さいながらも価値を与えられた時代、そして古布を使ってもう一度スポットライトを受ける未来。布には記憶が宿るというか、なんか嬉しくなりました。明日から今年最後の大仕事、ワークショップです。頑張ってきます。
