A phot of a par of Keiko’s latest work.

A phot of a par of Keiko’s latest work.
Once, the Japanese said, if a person had a small fabric swatch, the size big enough to wrap 3 soy beans, she/he gotta keep it since it may be used in the future mending project. This “Mottainai = too good to waste” culture is the fundamental of Boro and Sashiko.
★
It isn’t quite Boro (yet). However, we respect this Japanese mindset and challange to patchwork everything we love. The core of our activities is the appreciation to the fabric (what we have.)

Happy New Year! The first 3 days in the New Year are quite important in Japanese

Happy New Year! The first 3 days in the New Year are quite important in Japanese Culture. As I was raised surrounded by some “old-fashioned” artisans, I still carry some rituals. For example, it was not recommended to “stitch” until the end of Jan.3rd. Some even “prohibited” it. Instead, they…

“…the appreciation to the fabric (what we have.)….I love this! So glad I found you here and on Youtube and at your online shop. This has become a passion largely due to your art. Thank you!
