atsushijp, 2018年6月26日

We are working on the Sashiko stitching on the used jacket. It requires open space on the table to show, so I am on the Youtube Live Streaming often. I will do the Live in English, on Wed at around 9 pm EST. Check it out! Questions about Sashiko are welcome unless they aren’t about “how to do” Sashiko. (I will answer the questions which I do not need to stop my Sashiko project.) Sashi.Coで検索して頂ければ見つかるはずです。引き続き、配信、よろしくお願い致します。 —

Anyone can make Sushi for their family. However, as a Japanese, I hope they explain what “Sushi” is to their family, especially for childrens who absorb new information. Stories & definitions about Sushi are available everywhere, especially if they know the Sushi’s origin is in Japan. They do not need…

Keiko made a Jacket with many traditional patterns combined. She came up with this combination, yet she doesn’t feel she owns the patter. It is a collective wisdom. In 2019, 14 of Atsushi’s Workshop graduates made a similar Jacket by taking responsibility for a certain size of fabrics. It is…

音が出ます。Sound Alert. ☆ A bit of Atsushi’s personal life. As I often describe, I have core words in my ordinary: “No matter how difficult it is, we can go through it when we have warm food & good laughs”. We are in the historical crisis. It is not a time…

@anggigmlr Thank you for sharing the link. I read through, and I would probably need to write an article regarding this. As the article says, Aikido Gi is woven in the sashiko “style”. We do not categorize woven fabric as Sashiko, though. I will find time and share my understanding about it more. In short, Sashiko was largely performed before Aikido was established. Therefore, the most famous martial art for Sashiko & Gi is Kendo. I will get back to this topic.
