Another product from our concept of Mottainai – too good to waste.

When we have a small pile of small swatches, we make one of these “Grandma Pincushion”
It is not a regular item for sale, but once it becomes available, it is one of the most popular items we produce.
Enjoy Fabric and Repurpose them.
Appreciate what we have.

Our concept is always in up-cycle.

The Jacket in the photo is made by many (rising) Sashiko Artisans, directed by Keiko. As I always say here, there is no such a thing as “Right” and “Wrong” in Sashiko – no rules. Some misunderstand my saying as “Whatever is fine”… which isn’t wrong by its statement, but…

Since my childhood, I haven’t considered my Sashiko as “masterpiece” or even “proficient Sashiko”. There are reasons behind my perception of why, but I won’t explain it here as it will be long. Therefore, I call myself Sashiko Story-Teller instead of Sashiko Master. I wasn’t “allowed” to teach Sashiko until…
