It was so much fun to stream the second Live on Instagram. The time-frame I stream will be around 8:30 am ~ 10:30 am on EST, and I know it isn’t the best time for those who live in the U.S.
Let me know when would be your ideal time to stream so I “may” be able to adjust my schedule.

I read that the stitches should not cross. And you have in the center of the stitches intersect.

We believe there is no such a thing as “the rule” in Sashiko. There is simply a way to make it more beautiful. I prefer to not to care about intersection. The Sashiko which adjust to have the center circle looks a bit artificial to me. From my experience, as long as you try to keep the same size of stitches, the result turns out very beautiful.
why do you leave your eyelets on the corners?

There is no need to leave the eyelets. I just left this time because: (1)This is a sample material for the Sashiko workshop in November in NYC, so I wanted to explain how easy stitches get tensioned when there are no loops.
(2) I didn’t wash this fabric much, so it may require the stitching adjustment after the first wash&dry.
When I am sure that the fabric won’t shrink, I don’t leave loops as much as this photo.
