I recently learned that it is okay (or even better) to repeat the same message over and over. I used to avoid sharing the same story – as I thought it would make them bored. Then, some friends told me that there is always something new to learn from the exact same story. So, I will repeat the same message over and over and OVER!
☆
[Thread Matters in Sashiko]. In order to have a good experience in Sashiko, choosing a good Sashiko Thread is critical. As Sashiko becomes a trend, we can find many so-called “Sashiko Threads” from various manufacturers. Some even say Any Thread is fine. Is it true?
☆
When the goal is just to “decorative stitching” for temporary with a small amount of stitching, then it is true: Any thread is fine for their Sashiko. However, the Sashiko they practice is one part of Sashiko – and to maximize the potential of Sashiko, using the appropriate Sashiko Thread is very important.
☆
Then, a question may arise. What is the “Appropriate Sashiko Thread”? Among so many choices, our recommendation is only one – the Sashiko Thread we use. For you, it may be different – however, be noted that many brands & manufactures jumped into this market because they can sell their items better when they name it “Sashiko”. So… what I would recommend is to see if they have stories behind their threads. You can find a series of Stories about Sashiko Threads on our Youtube & another account, @SashikoStory .
☆
It may seem that the thread we use is expensive. It is true that our threads aren’t the cheap side. However, the skein is quite big in comparison to the standard 40 meter skein, and it will be very rewarding when you spend quite good amount of time – and more importantly – when you plan to “use” it toward the future.
☆
Sashiko Thread Matters. You will see it while stitching, right after stitching as a result, and will find out if my words are true after decades of enjoying Sashiko. For Mono Color Sashiko Thread, we have 15 colors & they are all good for Sashiko.
