Have you ever heard “Sumi Collection”? Ms. Sumi collect beautiful Japanese work

atsushijp, 2018年10月23日

Have you ever heard “Sumi Collection”? Ms. Sumi collect beautiful Japanese work coats, Happi and Hanten, and created the collection, which is published as the JP/EN bilingal book. ☆
Keiko, as a Sashiko artist (who can re-make Boro), has been hanging out with Ms. Sumi… When I heard that Keiko became a friend of her, I couldn’t say a word. What a fortune and honor it is. The authentic Boro & Kofu collecter meats Sashiko artists who loves Boro. It is a miracle!
☆
I am looking for an opportunity or organization to “pass down” this collection, which Ms.Sumi reserves now. If you know any good organization (or an individual) who can help me out, please let me know. We would like to keep this collection as is, not piece by piece. ☆

Sashiko is NOT the word for “Mending”. Yes, “Mending” is an important part of Sashiko, but the core essence of Sashiko exists opposite of mending. They stitched Sashiko so that they could avoid “mending” as much as they could. While people of today “appreciate” the mending out of many choices,…
