With watching the Keiko’s Sashiko Jackets, we (Keiko and I) often talk about the journey we are walking on. A craftmanship with a lot of pride to the artistic feeling of expressing oneself. Being a teacher from time to time, and now we are exploring more possibility of Sashiko.

Since we were in the Sashiko tradition, “going outside of the box” was (is) always a challenge. Keiko is leading one interesting project, which can probably surprise the world. Wait for the update!

恵子さんと話をしていて、染み沁み思うのです。長い道のりだったなぁと。まだまだ先は続くし、これからも続いていく物語ではあるのですが、「職人のプライド」という軸から、「自分を表現する」世界に飛び出し、「刺し子を教える楽しさ」を経験して、やっと最近、「共有できる刺し子」が手に触れられる所まで形になってきた気がします。親父の存在も、大槌刺し子との出会いも、そして親子二人で刺し子を再開したことも、点が線となって繋がってきているように思うのです。もう少ししたら、とても面白いプロジェクトを紹介できると思います。ノリで始めましたが、考えれば考える程、今までの常識から外れたものです。その常識外は、きっと良い意味での驚きを生み出してくれると思うのです。
