I want you to respect the stories behind the Sashiko, but please do not respect me “too much” (some politeness would be nice). I am just an ordinary person – no difference from you. As many ordinary Japanese people did Sashiko, I believe “anyone” can do (enjoy) Sashiko. Many say, “Wow. I cannot reach your level” and “It is impossible for me to do that”. Well, please do not limit yourself – it is not my intention in sharing the photo & story.
☆
I had spent a good 3 years developing “teaching” in Sashiko. No one taught me Sashiko, so it took a while to structure how to teach & what is missing. Sashiko is my ordinary way to stitch that I had received from many artisans. If you are interested in learning the technique and “how to”, please consider taking In-person Workshop / Online Sashiko Class. For 2020, Online Class is the only option for now. Many students have proven my word that “anyone can do it”. Again, Sashiko is merely a simple needlework. I charge fees so I can make sure what I am sharing – to make it more personal. It is not only the technique or “how to” that I would like to share, but also the Japaneseness there. Plus, everyone has different hands, so personal attention may be very important to get it as I intend. Online Sashiko Class is available with limited spots every month. The details are available from the profile or on @UpcycleStitches. I hope to meet you there online. ☆

I like seeing the other side!
🖤🖤🖤
I agree. The running stitch belongs to everyone, especially the workers.
It looks beautiful
I really wondering how to end the stitches to makesure it doesn’t break while we use 😂
