The days of being under the weather continue. I am feeling okay, but I lost my voice this morning (my vocal code isn’t working well, I guess). I hope that I can recover by Thursday at Sashiko Live. Well… even without actual voice sound, I can stitch & write emails.

The big event is coming in a month. I will be in Japan on 11/15, and it will be the beginning of “Sashiko Japan Retreat (Tour) 2024”. I learned the new word “Retreat” – and I realize what I offer is a retreat rather than a tour. We will have a series of Sashiko Classes/Workshops from a variety of Sashiko Artisans who aren’t well known due to their humbleness & language barrier. We travel between cities to meet masters & it will give us the time to explore before/after stitching. Keiko & I are always with the group for any assistance in Sashiko… more than any achievement I have done so far, I am very proud of myself receiving this much trust from those who are shining as Sashiko Artists/Artisans/Masters. I will add a bit of other “Textile Workshop” as well for us as Textile nerds.

I plan to share photos from the previous Sashiko Tour in 2023 along with some Stories here. I can only offer the retreat with limited times… and I limit the group to 8 people so that we can spend enough time to understand each other. This is the best way for me to share what Sashiko really is – and it is my hope to share with as many people as possible. Last year, I couldn’t share as many photos here as I wanted as the Domestica Course launched right after I came back. So much to share!

先週の不調はアレルギー反応だけではなかったようで…寝込む程体調不良というわけではないのですが、声が出なくなってしまう程には疾患しているようで。声が出ないのは…っと考えたら、配信以外は別に声出なくてもそれほど支障がない日々なのでした（笑）

とはいえ、一大イベントが1ヶ月後に迫っています。来月の今頃は日本で、恵子さんは展示会に、私は英語圏で刺し子をお伝えした人々と一緒に日本国内で様々な方から刺し子を学ぶ時間を作ります。日々忙しく準備をしている訳ですが、思い返してみても、これまで沢山の取材や展示の機会を頂いてきましたが…こうして日本で頼ることができる友達＆仲間、そして信頼して下さる先生方と関係性を築き上げてきたことが、何よりもの自慢です。ま、私の力ではないんですが…でも、こればかりは私と運針会の皆様の力がないと実現できないとんでもない10日間になっていると思います。講師の一人の恵子さんが「良いなぁ。贅沢やなぁ。羨ましいなぁ」とことあるごとに呟いているほどに（笑）。私はこの10日間のイベントに全力投球となりますが、少しではありますが展示会にも顔を出します。皆様とお会いできること、楽しみにしております（展示会＆オフ会の情報は別途ストーリーをご覧ください）
