On-going “Kofu (Vintage Fabric) Patchwork Pants”. This time, per request, I am working on Cotton Pants instead of Denim. The contrast of some colorful vintage fabric with Black Fabric is quite interesting, and it will develop differently over time. It is about 90% competition before I hand it back to the original owner. I hope that she keeps wearing it so that we can keep adding the stories.
☆
The client for this project is my spouse. She usually doesn’t show much interest in what I do. However, for this one, she agreed for me to work on her pants. I will ask her to be a model for this photo, and will show how this “shows the color contrast” in a natural movement.
☆
I will also want to see how this “requires” the follow-up work. I would consider taking a Commision work for this type of stitching. However, without the explanation of possible following mending & patchworking, it will be irresponsible as a maker… so, after these pants, I will see what I can do. If I can do this for someone else, I do not need to worry about sourcing the pants to stitch on – I have a (small) pile of fragments of vintage fabrics… Let’s see what I can do.

Upcycle Stitches LLC sells these Kofus only in the workshop and pop-up store opportunities. This summer, thanks to the help from Keiko (@sashi.co), we…

I received another photo of Keiko’s Hand-Dye Process. This made me quite emotional when I opened the file. It was my ordinary when I was in Japan – the ordinary scenery I (had to) see. Now, I realize how precious those moments were. There are a number of hands that…
