Drawing Geometric Patterns on the fabric. Stitching as I feel without focusing on the result while emptying my mind – or when I do not want to empty my mind, with movies or stand-up comedies. In recent years, what I have been doing in my “ordinary” life has become extraordinary. I am happy that what I (can) do inspires others. However, it makes me feel yucky seeing someone without actually stitching as much as we do romanticize Sashiko – changing the ordinary to something they make profit out of. Well, therefore, I share my stitching without any editing & modification on Youtube Live – focusing on my stories in English instead of stitching itself (as I do not need to focus on stitching when I choose specific patterns).

Drawing to Stitching, then “Mizutoushi” and preparation to the final project – the series of what I do as the ordinary is like a flow. It is very unnatural to have something interrupting the flow… and I guess the “unnatural” is something I feel toward Sashiko introduced in English now. So, here is my “unnatural” – fast-forwarding & back-forwarding. We are proud of what we do with our own hands – stitching, and we call it Sashiko. You, and anyone can do it as we do – all you need is a bit of open-mindness & acceptance of the “difference”. Learn it from someone who knows what they are talking about.

幾何学模様を布に書いて、ぼーっとしながら針を動かす。ぼーっとしたくない時は映画とか漫談とかみて針を動かす。そんな当たり前のことが特別になってしまうのがなんとなく気持ち悪くて、なんてことないことを大層なことのようにしてしまうのが格好悪いと思ってしまって、だからこそ配信でありのままの姿を晒しているんだろうなと思います。もっとキラキラしたところを見せると人気は出るのかもしれませんが、無理しても続かないから。「刺し子と笑い」を無理に結びつけようとした過去から学びました。まだ「刺し子と笑い」の結び付きそのものは諦めていないけれど（無理はしないというお話）。

ご縁を頂いて、2023年2月11日（土曜）の日本時間のお昼（11am 〜 3pm) に運針会を開催するきっかけを頂きました。もうお二方くらい参加ご希望を頂けたら、開催決定にしようかなと思っています。お伝えするのは運針と刺し子の基礎だけです。でも、運針ができるようになると、このアカウントでご紹介しているような刺し子はいずれできるようになります。これは私の感想とか願いとかじゃなく、この5年間で運針を学んでくださった方の実際の刺し子が物語っていることです。私が一番吃驚してるかもしれません。運針できるようになると、みんな（私が昔憂いた刺し子が）できるようになるんだ…と。運針会は不定期です。ご縁を大切にしたい為もあって、できれば運針会にご参加頂く方とは長いお付き合いができたらと思っています。興味頂ける方は、ストーリーから、あるいはプロフィールのリンクから詳細をご確認の上、DMかメールかを頂けましたら幸いです！
