Natural Dye Sashiko Thread, hand-dyed by Keiko Futatsuya, will be (hopefully) restocked soon. Since we do not have a production line, we can only offer 8~15 threads in each dyeing-batch considering the defect rate. Well… to be honest, I am very much relieved that Keiko can still work on her dyeing work for Sashiko Thread. We had several challenges in 2020 & 2021, and we are so grateful that we can still keep the same production.
☆
Our “normal” has changed a lot in the last 3 years. It is very fortunate that we can still dye our Sashiko thread for the best performance in Sashiko stitching. There are many reasons for the thread we use in Sashiko – and there are many stories for the “Natural Dye” we use – on top of the obvious reason of “beauty in Natural Dye”. I hope I can update our webstore with the restocked Natural Dye Sashiko Thread soon.

As much as I still think it is important to learn how to transfer & draw the pattern on the fabric, we hear the requests from our customers. We invested some to come up with this “Asano-ha pattern pre-printed” fabric. The great Indigo Dye fabric for Sashiko stitching & the…

Since I started teaching Sashiko in 2017, I have received a lot of feedback: “I would like to go to Japan with you, Atsushi!”. It is very flattering to hear that kind of compliment – they like the Sashiko I had shared & they are more interested in Japan (Japanese…
