I am an idealist. Since I married another idealist, I don’t really see “idealism” in myself every day & I have to balance it to keep our family together, but I am very much so. I started teaching Sashiko on Youtube for free. I stopped it because some “abuse” the “free-ness”, and I couldn’t keep it together with their “freedom”. Unfortunately, “Money” can be a good “filter” to have someone who really wants to learn. However, my idealism stays the same. As I keep saying, “I do not want to filter who can learn Sashiko based on what they have & don’t have”. So, Youtube is still there – I just don’t spend that much time there. If you watch 200 hours of Live Streaming, you may get something. And, I have this account as a reading material.

I know “publication” will be powerful. However, unfortunately, I do not want to hire someone to do what I do now to focus on “publication”. Writing stories here, preparing Sashiko supplies & packages by myself, Live on Youtube – the purpose is to “connect”. I don’t want to be your idol – I want to be your friend. Publication is my dream, but not a priority – we have a new tool – SNS. I have no book written about Sashiko in English, so here is my recommendation.

I ask, therefore, if you can afford it, please take my class to start Sashiko more efficiently (choosing supplies are a bit different. It is essential – I will mention more later). It will help me greatly. I may be able to hire someone to cut our lawn. I may be able to focus on writing by temporarily limiting the store to current customers. I am an idealist with a dream. I put all of my life into Sashiko – and therefore, I “want to be” and “can/will be” an idealist until the last moment. I thank your support for such an idiotic idealism.

昨日ご紹介した刺し子の先生。ワークショップをとても楽しんで頂き、学べることが光栄だというお言葉も頂きました。胸を撫で下ろすと共に、こういうことなんだろうと言う不思議な責任感を抱いているのも事実です。正解も間違いもありませんが、「道（物語）」は存在していて、それは日本語でないと理解できないものも多々あります。それを私はなんとか英語で説明している訳ですが、世界中にいる本気の刺し子の先生とは繋がっていきたいなと思うのです。覚悟を決めた方々と過ごす時間は、やっぱり素敵なものになります。
