I have been sharing a lot in the past few years. A post once a day. Still I have a lot more to share. Everyone has a different “opinion”. I am not expecting everyone to be on the same page. At the same time, I have a strong preference in Sashiko. However, I try to be as fair as possible in sharing. People occasionally say, “it is your opinion.” Well, I don’t think what I share is an “opinion”. Therefore, I use the word “insight” when I share my feelings & knowledge. This may be a wrong usage of English, but, to be honest, I am tired of “opinions”
☆
One of the main reasons I started sharing stories is that I want non-Japanese people to doubt what they know about the Japanese culture. Not all Japanese know about Sashiko. It takes very deep understanding to translate the language from a cultural perspective. Trend, popularity, majority, and positivity – these are fine. I just want you to know that there are some people with many emotions behind one word. Listen to the silent (minority) voice. Doubt what you know before judging others. Then, fabric & stitches will teach us the truth.

Gracias!
I think there are many stereotypes and fetishism concerning the Japanese and their culture in the West. It is difficult to navigate and find truth.
I am very grateful for the time you take to share your knowledge. Thank you for your insights.
