“In order to get a good result (even stitches), don’t focus on the result.” This

“In order to get a good result (even stitches), don’t focus on the result.” This is my answer to the question, “How can I make stitches so even?”. The Online Sashiko Class (or In-person after Covid-19) is an opportunity to learn to do so. ☆

Many of “how to Sashiko” can be learned via books/Youtube. However, the core of Sashiko – “Unshin” – may need personal attention. Therefore, I developed the class. It isn’t difficult at all. It is just different. I believe you can have an eye-opening experience based on our 30+ years of experience. Anyone can be like me or Keiko. Sashiko is merely a form of hand-stitching – not rocket science. The details are available via the profile link. (Check this tag how my Japanese students enjoy Unshin – ☆ – – – ☆ 「運針を教えて欲しい」というフォローワーさん達(今ではインスタ外でも友達)の言葉がきっかけで「運針会」というものを数年前に始めました。

We are making items we can “offer” for sale with as reasonable pricing as possible. Our stories become more powerful when they “experience” it. There are reasons why they stitched Geometric Patterns on specific areas on the fabric. There are stories why “mending” isn’t the primary essence in Sashiko. After…

Sorry for silence for several days (I kind of mentioned I would post everyday). ☆ In 2017, I offered the first “Core & Essence” Sashiko Workshop. It was named “Core & Basic” back then, and the length was 3 hours. Ever since, I have been studying what is the best…

I thank you for all the history and for educating those of us who come to sashiko from other cultures. It is important. It helps us honor and respect the history. To hold it all in mind as the needle pierces the cloth. I appreciate your passion
