Putting my strong preference aside, I am not so much particular about “what (Result)” when people call their stitching Sashiko. Instead, I am quite particular about “How (mindset)” when they use the word of Sashiko. ☆
Stop reading what you want to read, instead read what is written by understanding who wrote (If you do not trust the writer, then don’t read). We are all scared for unknown circumstances – but this is NOT a time to wield the power of freedom. The beautiful power of individualism does not work for viruses – so we need to trust in collectivism again. We all know that “right” comes with “responsibility”. ☆
Feel before React. Think before Verbalize. Research before Ask. Stitch before (while) B__ch. Old-fashioned Japanese culture may be a good concept to learn to feel in control, including Zen & Spirituality. I learn a lot by practicing Sashiko & I am willing to share here. At least, that is what I can do to contribute to society collectively. Please. Please care for others. This may be a good time to remember how beautiful a human being can be – that beauty we forgot after the blast of the Internet. (I Love the Internet. Don’t get me wrong.)

Additional information regarding a great question from @tatkosovar. Thank you! I compare 3 pieces of Asano-ha Sashiko Stitched Swatches. I prefer the center and the right. Sashiko is as simple as the photo is. If you like it, do it. If you don’t feel right, try to modify by yourself….

Although I don’t consider Sashiko as the Art, it is perfectly fine for you to look at our pieces as “Art”. I have many reasons to NOT to consider Sashiko as the Art based on my Japanese mindset. At the same time, you have your reasons to call ours &…

Thank you. I get so angry and frustrated with people I see who are completely disregarding social distancing rules, then I start to wonder why I’m even bothering to spend my time and materials making masks. But you remind me that most people are good and kind and do care, and nothing is gained by me allowing negative thoughts to affect my mental wellbeing.
