We respect the origin of Sashiko – and try to follow the way of tradition. At the same time, “playfulness” comes to our Sashiko. Respect, then modification (alternation). We try to make a piece that many (Japanese) feel, “Wow. That’s Sashiko” without an explanation.

From 2014 to 2017, Keiko spent most of her time in creative activities (Sashiko Bags & Jacket Making) while I was a full-time stay-at-home father. Although our stitching is quite speedy, it takes months to make one Sashiko Jacket. I am thinking to share what Keiko made for her beginning stage of SashiCo. ☆

Since May 2019, I have been sharing many Sashiko Stories on this account. Since my goal was sharing, not so much “delivering the message”, I tried to write a new story everyday. I tried one story per day for a long time.  ☆ I will keep sharing the stories. I…

Your work is so beautiful and amazing ♥️ I would like to try Sashiko and Boro with my naturally dyed fabric. I also would like to respect your culture and traditions. Would you be able to recommend a source to learn from?
