Read between lines. Listen to the silent voice. Appreciate the origin. ☆
These 3 lines can be idiotic to follow when the goal is to win. Contract (what is written), a loud voice from as charisma, and innovation over the origin will bring them a “success”. Well, I would like to emphasis the importance to read between lines, listen to the silence, and appreciate the origin in Sashiko. Guess what is common for these 3 “unproductive” phrases? It is “the extra time (unproductive)” which leads us to “CARE” more, the core message I keep mentioning. It is not smart to be unproductive in this society. However, when you learn Sashiko, I hope you would spend some unnecessary extra time to enjoy the whole picture of Sashiko. I hope you would realize the contradiction in asking for a quick answer when you try to enjoy the “Slowness”.

Sashiko is a “form/practice/culture of hand-stitching” developed in Japan. Yes, the “technique” and “patterns” are very inspiring & important to learn. However, what I want to share is “MORE” than just how Sashiko looks. What I would like to share includes, but not limited to, tradition, custom, rituals, belief, philosophy,…

Sashiko (or any hand-stitching) can be a powerful (psychological) remedy. I find many people enjoying the purpose of “relaxation” and “healing”. With the word Sashiko, while mending, they are probably mending themselves. I am happy that the Sashiko we have been practicing can contribute to our relief. ☆ Well, however,…
