Our Sashiko Story to Your Sashiko Journey

Sometimes, I receive feedback saying the Sashiko thread is expensive. Yes, in comparison to the regular sewing thread, it is more costly. However, there is a reason for using the Sashiko specific thread (The story is available on Youtube). Please understand that our thread has its length of about 145-meter (about 158 yards). The usual so-called “Sashiko Thread” has its length of 20 meters or so, and they cost around $2.00.
☆
Let’s say, the best white thread in our store cost about $14.00. It has about 145 meters. So, it is about $2.00 per every 20 meters. When you get a “good deal” from the web, then the cost of thread would be as low as $1.50 per 20 meters. If you stitch a lot, you would want to get the bigger skein. I hope this explains the scenery better. For Natural Dye, it is hand-dyed by Keiko or other dyeing artisans. Your understanding would be appreciated to keep this journey on-going, both providing the thread & Natural Dye Sashiko Thread. Thank you!!

I think that people who say it is expensive are not thinking of the work, care, quality that is behind it. That could be said about the thread or the Sashiko stitched garment.
