Photos of Boro before and after. This is my wallet of keeping my cards when I go out. I bring it out with me pretty much every time I am out, so it ages quite nicely and very much “Boro-like”. I understand that your interests would be “how to make the Boro like this”. In order to learn how, please start with taking the Atsushi’s Sashiko Workshop (Core & Basic) as well as joining the Patreon community where you can learn the honest insight toward Sashiko.
☆
There is no “mere technique” to make this kind of Boro. It is NOT difficult at all, but the core of Sashiko would be very necessary to have to make good Boro – both technique and wisdom from Sashiko tradition. ☆

I received a question asking why I have 2 accounts on SNS, here and @UpcycleStitches (US). I share “Stories” here, is for business. Although I “sell” my culture to make it sustainable, I wanted to focus on sharing stories & minimize the money related topics like advertisement for class, new…

I share many stories. I want you to read every post before “Reacting”:, but here is a roughly condensed message: Sashiko introduced in English is NOT wrong but insufficient. I feel fear of someone non-Japanese making the “insufficient description of Sashiko” as a whole culture by ignoring/filtering voices from Japan(ese).  …

We are starting the “New Normal”. I once became the full time stay-at-home father (again)… well, this time, more like a home-school teacher (until the school starts). ☆ Unlike the many other Japanese business models, we have a policy of “family comes first”. As much as I would like to…
