Do you know Saori Weaving? We are offering the Sashiko Stitching workshop in a great weaving studio in NYC, Loop of the Loom (@loopoftheloom). I have just started learning the Saori Weaving, but I enjoy many similarities between Sashiko and Saori Weaving – rooted to the Japanese culture. Another trunk sale (open to the public) tomorrow from 4:30 pm to 6 pm. Come stop by to check the Sashiko items & supply as well as the possibility of joining the Saori Weaving. I can tell it will be in your list of things to do in NYC.

今回のワークショップ、「さをり織り」のスタジオにて行っております。いやはや。この変化の半端ないNYCで長年テキスタイルの手仕事のスタジオを丁寧に且つ美しく運営されている皆様に、尊敬の気持ちでいっぱいです。刺し子とさをり織り、違いも勿論ありますが、似ているところもあって、やっぱり同じ前提を共有できると話も早いなぁと思うのです。手仕事と一緒に日本文化を伝えることは楽ではありませんが、それでも、やっぱりこうした先輩方がいると心強く感じるし、すごいなぁと感銘せざるを得ないのです。
