Thank you for comments with empathy. I guess I have reached up my capacity. I receive many requests & questions about Sashiko. I tried to be honest and earnest to share the Sashiko we practice. However, some handle my attitude without being mindful, and they hurt my feelings. Unfortunately, a few percent of followers discourage me to keep on going. So, I would appreciate your feedback on how I should react to this issue. I cannot just ignore, unfortunately. ☆
(1-idea). I will continue sharing photos of Sashiko here in SNS. However, I will not write as much and will not answer the questions unless it is the first time question asked in SNS. Instead, I will share my honest feelings in Patreon, where the fee occurs. It is not my intention to ask the fee to read what I share, but it can be a good filter to protect myself from rudeness and “easiness”. Right now, our Patreon page exist for pure supporting. The patrons really do not ask for the returns. When this becomes an option, then I would like to make the Patreon space as the community where I can answer those “non-technical” Sashiko questions. What do you think? https://www.patreon.com/sashiko / well, I will try to summarize the message there as a book one day.
☆
For the technical questions, please take the workshop in person or Online. The workshop will explain pretty much everything you may have questioned, and I will follow up myself if the question is still remained unanswered. ☆
Again, it is not my intention to filter the followers based on “what they have (here, $5.00)”. However, I do not know the other way to protect myself from the ignorance, easiness, and quickness. I hope $5.00 per month is not critical to your days. For the workshop, if the fee is too high for your days, please contact me with offering something you may do for us. Again, what I would like to filter here is the “thoughtlessness and rudeness” that I cannot let go. If you have a better idea, please let me know as well. ☆

Precioso
It would be welcome if you still posted photos here, but I think moving more of your words and questions/answers to Patreon is a good idea. You give us so much generously, for free. Your time and experience and words have value, and you deserve a 100% receptive and respectful audience.
I enjoy your posts, the ones about your culture and your feelings too. So encouragement from me. I would welcome a book! Ive done a bit of what i thought is sashiko from some kits from Japan called sashiko. It is very meditative and i really enjoy. 🧵
Thank you for everything you share! A book written by you would be wonderful. I love the live videos so I can watch you work. Don’t let people get you down. You have many followers and can’t answer every question. 💙
This is such a good expression of your care for yourself, your art and cultural traditions and knowledge. Thank you for sharing all that you have — the fee that you are proposing is minimal and so worth it!
You will not outrun thoughtless and rudeness, everyone on the planet has a different frame of reference and culture, if you are going to interact with everyone, you will have to let some junk go. Or. Not interact.
I appreciate your posts and will support you in whatever works best for you.
I only found your YouTube channel and Instagram account a couple of weeks ago. In that time I have learned so much about sashiko including the history behind it. I appreciate everything you have shared. I especially appreciate your open and honest thoughts that you share. I’m sad that some people have been rude in their approach to you. This is a sign of their ignorance.
Do what’s best for you. If patreon seems like the answer then we will follow.
I am sad to hear about all this. I read your words with great interest although I dont do sashiko. Do whatever you think is best for you, take good care of you. 💙
😍beautiful!! I am nowhere near as good as u are. Don’t kisten to other’s discouraging you. Just Feel for itself. U enjoy doing it? Then u just continue. There is always jealous and critical people. Don’t let them discourage u
I’m sorry people are so thoughtless in their responses. I read your words with great interest. I think sashiko is beautiful. I have wanted to learn how to do it myself but worried a lot about how ethical it was for me to do so. I would never wish to cause offence and am always keen to learn the heritage behind the crafts I admire. Your words have helped me greatly with thinking about sashiko and understanding the importance of the practice and the tools used.
I’m not sure I have any answers to your questions, but I do know that you have no obligation to expose yourself to pain in the name of education or any other cause. I will definitely be looking to take your workshop online once my kids return to school after the summer and will be looking to support you via Patreon too.
Those people who comment like that are wanna be artists. If they don’t get it don’t waste your time trying to explain it. There are real artists and real art lovers. It’s to bad many can’t value what they don’t understand hence the low pay and many hours of work for artists. Still knowing all of that is not enough to make me stop being who I am as an artist. Being comfortable with being uncomfortable is the rule. All that nonsense cuts into my studio time. Learn this early and benefit forever!
