For some reasons, remembering my father in the mother’s day. My father’s words have a pretty significant impact to my life – although he wasn’t the “textbook-best” father, he told me something important from time to time.
☆
「It is okay to be “not-good-at” something. There is something you may not be able to do even if you try hard. However, deciding “not to do” will limit your possibility, and that is degrading who you can be.」Whenever I had a challenge in my life, his word came back to me. Can you believe I once had failed the English and went to the summer supplemental class to go the next grade?
☆
It is same in Sashiko. When you learn something new, I want you to try it instead of defining it is too difficult, different, or challenging for you. Defining something subjectively will limit what it is. I am here to share what we know so you can expand the possibility of your Sashiko. I believe I can provide good amount of information to make it more enjoyable.

I was notified that my article & video about “Zokin” comes to the top when we use Google Search. This is a great achievement & example of sharing stories “before” it happens – something I should have done 20~30 years ago (noted that there was no Internet & I was…

I learned that “being nice” is a fundamental part of relationships in the US. I understand it is important, but here, in this account, please be nice to yourself first. You don’t have to be nice to anyone, but try to be kind. I much prefer “learn with pain” than…

I appreciate all of the reactions to the “a big stone” I dropped on 7/10. This may be another big stone to drop. I have been thinking about the word “inspired”. I say: [Please do not use the word “Inspired” as an excuse to not to learn]. The Japanese doesn’t…

Thank you. I keep your fathers words in mind and pass them on to myself and my kids.
